The MRPBL would like to announce the hiring of two new managers for the 2015 season.
The Grays Harbor Gulls have hired Matt Smith as the new manager. The Gulls vacancy was created when Phil Savaged resigned from the Gulls at the end of April. Matt played his college baseball at Texas Tech University and then played professionally for the Thunder Bay Whiskey Jacks in the mid-90's. Matt coached at Texas Tech and also coached Independent baseball for the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League. He also coached Summer baseball for the Thurston County Senators in the Puget Sound Collegiate League. Matt is excited about the opportunity to manage the Gulls and coming to Grays harbor for the Summer. You can meet Matt and the Gulls players on May 15th at Rainier Lanes.
Carlos Nunez is the manager of the Moses Lake Rattlers. Carlos was signed to a free agent contract with the Cleveland Indians, has coached in the Puerto Rican professional leagues for years and owns the Puerto Rico Insructional Baseball League PRIBL.Carlos is a knowledgeable and great addition to a very good group of managers.
