TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. - Patrick Rogowski (pictured) scored two goals and MWJHL Goaltender of the Year David Krejcik stopped all 26 shots he faced as the Traverse City Hounds blanked the Soo Firehawks 6-0 Friday night in Game 1 of the MWJHL Veteran's Memorial Cup semifinals at Centre ICE.

Scott Luca and Cam Fisher each tallied a goal and an assist and Kevin Cole and Zak Pipers added one goal each for the Hounds.

"It was a good game tonight," Traverse City head coach Jacek Wilk said. "We got a couple quick goals and took the game from there. David was outstanding tonight. For tomorrow, we need to get some rest and be ready to play another tough game."

Cam Givens tacked on two assists as well.

"I thought we played one of the better games of the year," Givens said. "Obviously, everyone has extra jump because it's the playoffs, but it was nice to get a win and get ahead in the series. The key to tomorrow is just to take it one period and one shift at a time."

Soo goalies Cody Call and Mackenzie Bruce combined to make 29 saves. Call started and was chased just 6:54 into the first period after allowing two goals on five shots.

Game 2 is Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Centre ICE.
