Dayton, Ohio – The Dayton Demonz, 2013-2014 Federal Hockey League Commissioner’s Cup Champions and proud affiliate of the ECHL’s Fort Wayne Komets, announced today that they have agreed to terms with Defenseman Brian Marks.  The Brownville, New York native will be returning for his third season with the Demonz.

The Demonz welcome their captain back after coming off his best season of his career.  “Having Marksy back is huge.  He logs a lot of minutes and does anything for the team,” said Coach Trevor Karasiewicz.  “He plays in every situation and controls the game.  I am expecting another huge year from him this season.”

Marks captained the Demonz to Dayton’s first championship since 1975-1976 Dayton Gems.  Playing in 55 regular season games, he scored 20 goals, had 36 assists and was named FHL’s Defenseman of the Year.  During the Demonz’ historic playoff run he scored 2 goals and had 7 assists in the 8 games, including 3 assists in the 9-2 Commissioner’s Cup Final Game 5 win in Danbury, Connecticut.

When asked why he is returning for his third season in Dayton Marks said, “I love the fans and the city of Dayton.  I want to come back and win another championship.”  When asked how he liked playing for Coach Karasiewicz Marks said, “He had given me a bigger role than just being a defensive player.”  Marks added, “Coach Karasiewicz coached us to a championship and it was personally my first championship since 2000.”
