Bluefield College's Ryan Shockey earned Champion City Kings Player of the Week honors for his complete-game win against Rio Grande last week. The right-hander allowed just two runs on six hits, struck out five and walked no one.
Through eight starts and nine appearances this season (as of April 8), Shockey sports a 6-2 record and an ERA of 2.05. He has turned in complete-game efforts in six of his eight starts.
Through 57 innings pitched, the Blaine, Wash., native has struck out 41 batters against just six walks.
