Syracuse Stars wins tough contest against Bay State Breakers, 4-2

Syracuse Stars gutted out a close 4-2 win against Bay State Breakers.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Blake Eberhardt at 18:51 of the third period.

Syracuse Stars evened the best of three series at 1-1 and forced a deciding game three.

Eberhardt had two goals and one assist to lead Syracuse Stars. Eberhardt scored the first of his two goals at 4:29 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Brandon Altman provided the assist. Eberhardt's next tally made the score 3-2 Syracuse Stars with 1:09 left in the third period. Dylan Hart assisted on the tally.

Syracuse Stars also got points from Hart, who also had one goal and one assist. Syracuse Stars also got a goal from Nick Gorino as well. More assists for Syracuse Stars came via Corey Sherman, who had one.

Bay State Breakers forced Syracuse Stars goalie Mark Specia to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. Bay State Breakers did not rack up many penalties in the contest, tallying only one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Bay State Breakers was helped by Alexandr Alexandrov, who grabbed one goal. Alexandrov scored 1:50 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Bay State Breakers. Mason Gallegos provided the assist. Nicholas Russo also scored for Bay State Breakers. In addition, Bay State Breakers received assists from Robert Sigurdsson and Canyon Scala, who each chipped in one.

Specia rejected 33 shots on goal for Syracuse Stars. Syracuse Stars incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Keith Inman made 26 saves for Bay State Breakers on 29 shots. Bay State Breakers registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
