It was not a pleasant night to say the least for Fort Wayne fans as they saw their Feds fall to St. Louis, a result that had yet to happen all season for the Frontenacs.  Fort Wayne got on the board first with a goal from Zach Barone at 9:52 of the first giving the Feds a 1-0 lead as they controlled the play in period one.  A lucky break off a turnover led to Jacob Rickman's goal at 13:41 which tied the game at 1-1.  After one period the game saw Fort Wayne leading in shots 9-8.  Period two the wheels came off for Fort Wayne with two goals 1:59 second apart from Jacob Rickman who completes the Hat Trick with one of those goals coming shorthanded at 7:00 & the other at 8:59.  Michael Tratar would answer back with a shorthanded goal of his own at the 11:16 mark making it 3-2 heading to the second intermission.  In the third both teams would trade goals including two more shorthanded goals, one from each team, Jordan Stradtman for St. Louis at 7:06 and BrendanLewis at 11:04. Mike Schlereth and Cam Wirick would have the other two tallies in the third.  Fort Wayne staged a massive flurry of shots at the net in the final minute but goaltender Travis Bastin shut the door on Fort Wayne giving St. Louis their first win on the season and first win as a club since February, 16 2013 of last season vs. the same Federals club. On the night the Feds outshoot St. Louis 35-22 yet find themselves in the loser column.  Bastin led the way in goal playing outstanding making 31 saves in the win.  Rickman also had an outstanding night getting three goals in one game for the hat trick, he had two goals all season coming into the game.  Thought loss for Fort Wayne as they stay put in fifth place in the Great Lakes division.  Both teams back at it today at the Lutheran Health SportsCenter at 12:30 PM EST or if you can't make it to the rink check out the game live on MSBNSports.net with Chris Treft on the call.
