WENATCHEE, Wash. - With one weekend to go ahead of the Pacific Northwest Amateur Hockey Association playoffs, crunch time has officially arrived for the Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy.

The Academy's Canadian Sport School Hockey Clubs gave a competitive effort in losses north of the border, with the 18-and-under team taking a 9-5 loss to the North Shore Warriors on Saturday and a 5-1 defeat on Sunday. Saturday's game was especially fast-paced, with 111 shots on goal between the teams and an 8-for-15 combined mark on the power play. Otaro Inoue scored two goals for Wenatchee, and Jackson McCutcheon picked up a goal and an assist.

"We were right there in that first game, and everything was good," said Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy director Troy Mick. "I didn't really like our game on Saturday, after we were down two and we tied it 4-4. We took penalties and missed assignments, didn't stay structured and that's what happened. Sunday, our goaltender Anthony Ganoung played very well, and faced over 60 shots. They had 38 scoring chances, and we had 12. Now, we've got to chop it up and get ready for this weekend."

The 16U squad picked up goals from Tyler Stefani and Erik Hendricks in a 6-2 loss at Delta Hockey Academy this past weekend in CSSHL play, before traveling to Seattle for a PNAHA matchup against the Seattle Jr. Kraken, taking a 3-0 loss. The 15O and 14U teams had the weekend off from competition, ahead of a busy weekend for the Academy this week.

The 18U team will travel to Coeur d'Alene Academy to play a pair of games on Friday and Sunday, while the 16U team will play a decisive game Saturday at the Seattle Jr. Kraken to determine home-ice advantage in their best-of-three PNAHA playoff series next week. The 15O group will travel to Seattle for two games against the Seattle Jr. Metropolitans, while the 14U team will get a final tune-up in Portland, Oregon before its three-team PNAHA tournament next weekend in Tacoma.
