SASQUATCH SIGN TRIO OF LEFT-HANDED PITCHERS
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (December 7th, 2020)
(Spearfish, SD) – The Spearfish Sasquatch of the Expedition League announce the signing of a trio of left-handed pitchers to their 2021 squad over the past couple of weeks. Ty Wilson & Hunter Runion from Montana State University - Billings and Jack VanDoran from Long Island University – Brooklyn.
LHP – Ty Wilson– Parker, CO
Ty will enter the 2020-2021 season as a Red Shirt Freshman for Montana State University – Billings. He played for Ponderosa High School in Parker, CO, under coach Bob Maloney. In his senior year, Wilson sported a 1.00 ERAwith 26 strikeouts and an opponent’s batting average of just .116 over 14.0 innings pitched.
LHP – Hunter Runion – Silverton, OR
A Red Shirt Freshman for the Jackets,Runion was a standout baseball and football player in high school where he was first-team all-conference in both sports. Runion was also selected to play in Oregon's top prospect Futures Game and ranked #10 in the Future Stars Series combine. He pitched two shutouts on the mound his senior year totaling 46 IP & 56 SO. Hunter also led his team in BA posting a .346 clip, including 11 doubles.
LHP – Jack VanDoran – New Babylon, NY
Jack enters the 2020-2021 season as a Red Shirt Sophomore for the Long Island University Sharks. The six foot - four inch, one hundered and ninety pound left-hander is a graduate of West Babylon High School in New Babylon, NY, where he lettered in baseball three years. He made one relief appearance during the 2019-2020 season before it was shut down due to COVID-19.
