From the Expositor,

The Brantford Blast will seek their second win in a row when they host the Dundas Real McCoys at the civic centre on Sunday in a 7:30 p.m. game.

Dundas currently leads Allan Cup Hockey with a record of 10-3-2, while Brantford is third at 7-7-1.

Brantford started the 2020 portion of its season with six straight losses. In those games, the Blast were outscored 46-19. That was preceded by a first-half record of 6-1-1 and a scoring advantage of 48-33.

The Blast were able to snap their losing streak on the road Monday night when they defeated the Whitby Dunlops 5-2. That game was a makeup from a contest that was postponed due to bad weather.

Nathan Pageau, who picked up an assist in the game against Whitby, was a big offensive contributor when Brantford played Dundas on Jan. 10 at home. He scored a goal and added two assists in a 7-3 loss.

Overall this season, Pageau sits third on the Blast with 14 points (eight goals, six assists) in 10 games.

The Blast will need Pageau and all of the team’s other offensive weapons firing on Sunday as they make a push to build momentum for the playoffs.

After Sunday’s game, Brantford has just four more games remaining, including home dates on Feb. 7 against the fourth-place Dunlops (3-12) and Feb. 16 against the second-place Hamilton Steelhawks (10-4-1).
