Local Slugger returns for another season

The Hamilton Cardinals are pleased to announce the return of Laine Renaud (Hamilton). After finishing up his highly successful college career at East Stroudsburg University, Laine played 32 games last year for the Cardinals in his 2nd full season in the IBL. Laine hit .220 (29-132 ) with 3 Homeruns and 17 RBI's. Laine also had 2 Homeruns in the playoffs.

Laine is a big piece of our team, he can play both infield and outfield, provides power and is a club house leader. I am sure he would be the first to admit that he needs to work on his consistency, but Laine played a lot of ball last year and its not uncommon for guys to get tired with all the travel in there first full season in the IBL. We look forward to seeing what Laine can produce moving forward stated Cards GM Jeff Lounsbury.

" Last year was something to remember but it won't compare to the history this group of guys are going to make this upcoming season. We are all very excited and the chemistry this team has been building is something you don't find too often. We are all extremely grateful for all the work this ownership has put in, to bring us together and we can not wait to make them proud. I know that if you put our best up against anyone else's these boys won't quit. It's really a great time to be a Cardinal. There is not another team I'd rather take the field with."

The Hamilton Cardinals are members of Ontario’s most elite baseball league, The Intercounty Baseball League. The 101 year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, established in 1919.
