Red Hawks Look to Finish the Season Strong

There is no question it has been it has certainly been a season of ups and downs for the Red Hawks. After winning the DVCHC Championship last season and winning nearly 90% of their games, the team finds itself with a record of 2-8-0-0 so far this season. With the graduation of 4 of the key cogs of last season’s team, the option by another 4 players not to play this season, and the absence of Paula Bush due to an internship opportunity overseas this fall the team lacked the numbers to be as competitive as they have been the last two seasons.

Be that as it may, the team is surprisingly optimistic about their remaining 4 games. The addition of three players at the semester break seems to have bolstered the hopes of the team and staff. Although it may not be a championship season, the team seems to be headed in the right direction. “We, no doubt, lost a lot to graduation and having some players not return or leave the team hurt as well. But, the girls are still pressing on. Getting Paula (Bush) back and adding a few new players will definitely help us for the remaining schedule. It also gives us something to look forward to next season. It is our hope that we can add some more depth to the roster and build the program back up to where we were last year. It’s a process”, said Head Coach Dave Solomon.

The Red Hawks will travel to Maryland this weekend to take on the University of MD on Saturday.
