On Saturday, June 23, Beers’ rookie Mike Kazley asserted his dominance both at the plate and on the mound, helping his squad earn a doubleheader sweep over the division-leading Giants

    Swinging a hot bat, Kazley went 4-for-7 with a grand slam on the day. He drove in six runs altogether and scored five of his own. On the bump, he proved just as good, fanning eight Giants in six innings and allowing no earned runs on the day.
