At Taft High school on June 9, the Braves and the Mud Hens locked horns in an epic pitcher’s duel that lasted nearly four hours. When the dust settled, the Mud Hens had handed the Braves their first loss of the year, thanks to rookie hurler Chris Liegel’s tremendous performance.

Against dominant Braves’ starter Winfild De La Rosa, Liegel authored an 11 inning, complete game win, scattering five hits over the course of the ball game. He would allow just three runs on the night, none of them earned.
