TEAM NATIONAL WINS 18U ALL-STAR GAME

Allston, MA- Jack Studley and Kyle Penney each scored a pair of goals to lead Team National to a 7-3 win over Team American in the Massachusetts Select League 18U All-Star Game.

Studley gave Team National the early lead when he took a pass from Gunnar Fontaine and ripped it past American goaltender Sean Dynan 4:26 into the contest.

Jay O’Brien tied the game when he banged home Thomas Samuelsen’s rebound at 5:50. Bryce Dolan was also credited with an assist.

Studley put Team National back in the lead early in the second period when he netted his second of the game.

Liam Bove made it 3-1 when he took a pass from Reilly Moran in the slot and fired it home at the eight-minute mark of the second.

Penney bagged his first of the game 1:19 into the final period with help from Matthew Egan, and followed that up with another tally with 7:57 to go, this time with help from Matt Toporowski.

Samuelsen counterpunched a minute later when he lit the lamp with assists from O’Brien and Conall Persechino.

A minute later, Ian Murphy pulled Team American within two when he redirected a pass from Jeriho Petkovich into the goal. Christian Felton also assisted.

Vilho Saarilouma squashed the rally with a goal at 12:16 with assists from Studley and Jayson Dobay.

Nolan McElhaney rounded out the scoring with help from Moran and Cullen Young with 16 seconds remaining.
