DAY 6
Final day of the CLA Bantam Nationals in Saskatoon, SK, let’s giveaway some hardware! Here’s your recap of everything Bantam Nationals for Friday, August 4th.
Game 31: Quebec vs Manitoba
In a game to decide the B side bronze Quebec and Manitoba locked down on defense in a low scoring affair. Eventually Manitoba pulled ahead with a two-goal lead and didn’t let it go. The final score in this one was 4-2.
Game 32: Nova Scotia vs Saskatchewan
For B side gold game Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan squared off in another defensive battle. With no scoring through one period it was Saskatchewan that came out with the first strike in the second period followed by two quick goals from Nova Scotia. Saskatchewan could only muster one more goal though and Nova Scotia went on to win 4-2.
Game 33: First Nations vs Alberta
For the third place finish Team Alberta squared off against First Nations. The first period saw teams trade goals with First Nations leading heading in to the break. That’s where their scoring would dry up though as Alberta went on to score 10 unanswered goals and finish the game with a final score of 11-2
Game 34: Ontario vs British Columbia
Ontario and British Columbia closed out the tournament to decide who would take home the hardware and first place. This game was much like all of Ontario’s other games and had Ontario score 4 unanswered goals in the first period. In the second British Columbia closed the gap outscoring Ontario 5-2, but, that wasn’t enough to take down the powerhouse from the east as Ontario continued to score at will through the final period and win 11-5 over British Columbia.
