The Aviators took game 1 behind a complete game shutout by Nate McGhee. Atwater won 8-0.

 

On the Mound- 

Nate McGhee (Merced College) pitched a gem, allowing one hit and no runs over his 9 inning performance. McGhee struck out 9 batters. 

 

Harrison Beethe started for the Gems, but was only able to go 4.1 innings, surrendering 6 runs, 7 hits and 6 walks. 

 

Game Summary- 

Ryan Frakes (Merced College) was a hit machine at the top of the batting lineup as he had a 4-5 game with 4 RBI. Jesus Duran (Merced College) had a productive game, going 2-3 with 2 RBI. Nikko Delgado (CSU Stanislaus) hit a solo homerun.
