The Oakville Rock opened the 2017 MSL season with a road win in Cobourg Sunday. Even with a thin lineup, Oakville jumped out to an early lead and didn't look back, eventually sealing the game 13-5. Todd Kozak had 3G-2A-5PTS in the win, while rookie Conner Fields picked up 2G-2A-4PTS. Brett Hickey and Joe French each had 4PTS each. Nick Rose got the start and the win on the road.

Monday night at home, the Rock were in a similar situation with some bodies missing. The Peterborough Lakers were in town and jumped out to an early lead. The Rock battled back and tied the game with about 30 seconds left in the third period. The game went to a full 10 minute overtime, Lakers goalie Evan Kirk shut out the Rock, while Jeff Swift slipped one in past Rock goalie Steve Fryer.

The Rock ended the week at 1-1 and will now host the Brampton Excelsiors on Monday, June 5th at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville, ON. All Rock home games are an 8PM start.
