                IDAHO JUNIOR STEELHEADS FACE OFF FOR ANOTHER THORNE CUP SUNDAY

The Idaho Junior Steelheads will play for their third consecutive Thorne Cup championship Sunday afternoon at 1:30 PM MDT in Ogden, Utah, against either the Ogden Mustangs or Wichita Junior Thunder. 

The Junior Steelheads defeated the Valencia Flyers 3-1 Saturday afternoon in the first semi-final game of the WSHL tournament to advance to the Sunday Thorne Cup Final Game. It will mark the seventh straight season Idaho has been able to play in the championship contest.

Ogden and Wichita faced off in the second semi-final Saturday night.

In the three-game round-robin phase of the tournament, Idaho lost to Ogden 3-2, beat Valencia 3-1, and lost to Wichita 2-1.

The Junior Steelheads earned their berth in the semi-finals based on a tiebreaker involving goal differentials – goals scored versus goals allowed.
