The Seacoast Mavericks (32-15) and the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (19-28) each put runners in scoring position on Thursday, but the Seacoast Mavericks capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 7-3 win at Leary Field.
Steven Octave racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Seacoast Mavericks. He singled in the fourth, sixth, and eighth innings.
The Marthas Vineyard Sharks' Ricky Surum was perfect at the dish, going 4-4. He singled in the first, third, fifth, and ninth innings.
Mitchell Powers improved to 4-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Seacoast Mavericks. He allowed three runs over eight innings. He struck out seven, walked none and surrendered 11 hits.
Cameron Sepede (4-1) took the loss for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
