Swoope leads the Seacoast Mavericks to 10-8 win over the North Shore Navigators

A magnificent effort by Alvin Swoope lifted the Seacoast Mavericks (15-7) to a 10-8 win over the North Shore Navigators (7-15) on Sunday at Leary Field.

Swoope hit two home runs for the Seacoast Mavericks. Swoope went 3-5 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. Swoope homered in the sixth and eighth innings.

The two teams combined for 18 runs and 18 hits, including zero extra base hits. There were seven pitchers used in the game as the two managers searched for any way to finish it off.

The North Shore Navigators' lineup had no answer for Andrew Lalonde. Lalonde held the North Shore Navigators hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two.

MacDaniel Singleton got on base four times in the game for the North Shore Navigators. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Luke Fernandes recorded his first win of the year for the Seacoast Mavericks. He allowed two runs over two innings. He struck out five, walked three and surrendered three hits.

Nick Malatesta (0-2) took the loss for the North Shore Navigators. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out five, and allowed four runs.
