Nickname:  Darby – Brad backwards with a Y.  I got it in college.  People here don’t call me that, but all my friends from school still do.

Age:  26

Hobbies:  Reading and working out

Favorite sport besides hockey:  Lacrosse – I played it in college and I may possibly play in a men’s league after our season is over.

Favorite team:  Detroit Red Wings

Favorite type of music:  Country

Favorite singer:  Eric Church

Favorite book:  The Bible

Favorite movie and genre:  Comedies.  My favorite movie is Mystery, Alaska.

Favorite TV show:  Blue Mountain State – It’s slapstick comedy.

Favorite animal:   Dog

Favorite restaurant:  The Beef House in Covington, IN

Favorite meal:  Steak and potatoes

Favorite junk food:  Chips, especially Flaming Hot Cheetos

Favorite beverage:  Cherry Pepsi

Favorite color:  Blue

Favorite car/truck:  Ford F150

Favorite video game:  NHL

Favorite superhero:  Batman – I recently watched Gotham, the TV series.

Favorite holiday:  Christmas – It’s the time when I get to see my family.

Favorite cause or charity:  Relay for Life – We always did the walk in college and had a booth.

Favorite vacation destination:  Hawaii – I went there as my college graduation present.  We picked it after watching Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and we stayed at the same resort as in the movie.  It was really cool because Sean White, Ryan Sheckler and other snowboarders/skateboarders happened to be there at the same time.

Favorite place to go to relax:  Just driving around – I started doing that in college to get away and still do.

Favorite quote:  Luke 12:48 – “To whom much is given, much is expected.”

Pet peeve:  Being late – I get anxious if I’m running late.  I like to be on time.

One thing on your bucket list:  To go to Bora Bora – It would be an ideal honeymoon spot.  There are huts with glass floors that sit in the ocean, and there are stairs that go from the hut straight into the water. 

One thing you can’t live without:  Coffee

Person you would most like to meet and why:  [Laughs] Taylor Swift – I would like to see if she is really that depressed, because all of her songs are about breakups and broken relationships.

Best advice you ever received:  Life’s a garden; dig it.  It’s from the movie Joe Dirt.

Proudest moment:  Graduating college

Best roommate moment:  Watching Zach Zamora play the UFC video game where his character is training to fight – Zach gets so mad when he’s playing that watching his reaction is hilarious!

Best childhood memory:  Having one-on-one special “date” time with my mom.  She would alternate doing this with my brother and me, and each time we got to pick what we wanted to do.  It never mattered to her what we did; she just got so much joy out of spending individual time with us.  I remember sometimes choosing to go to the skate park and riding my bike.  There wasn’t anything for her to do there, but she loved just watching me.  Then we would go out to eat afterwards.  It really showed how much she loved us.

One simple pleasure:  All clean laundry!

One guilty pleasure:  Chocolate ice cream or brownies and ice cream
