Six Nations Arrows wins another one-sided game over Coquitlam Adanacs by a score of 9-4 to take the series 4-2 and win the 2015 Minto Cup.

The Arrows jumped out to a 2-0 lead just 5 minutes and 37 seconds into the first period, and proceeded to hold the lead for the rest of the game. An efficient offence with contributions from nearly the entire team, Six Nations managed to wear down the previously effective Coquitlam defence and goaltending with shots near and far.

Though Coquitlam’s goaltending was still good, it inevitably faltered as Six Nations have found more opportunities as the series continued along. 60 shots this game represents the most by either team in a single game.

In comparison, Coquitlam’s offence settled on lots of outside shots in the hope that good accuracy and impeded goalie vision due to the amount of people in front would get the job done. As in previous games however, the goaltending of Six Nations remained resilient under pressure and the defence minimized inside shots.

Persistent themes such as a minimal amount of penalties and few transition opportunities continued in this game to force 5 on 5 scenarios. Though Coquitlam put up a good effort, Six Nations managed to close out the series to win a back to back championship.

The Six Nations player of the game went to #30 Doug Jamieson with 42 saves on 46 shots, and the Coquitlam player of the game went to #41 Cole Shafer with a goal and an assist.

The Minto Cup MVP was awarded to #21 Brendan Bomberry, who had 9 goals and 8 assists in the series. He also received the Jim Bishop Award, presented to the player deemed to have the highest qualities of leadership, sportsmanship and outstanding play. This is the first time ever that one player has won both the series MVP and the Jim Bishop Award.
