The Great West League is proud to name Bill Speck as the league's Supervisor of Umpires.  "Bill has a wealth of umpiring experience, both on the field and as an administrator," said GWL President Ken Wilson in announcing the appointment.  "He's well-respected in the umpiring community and will provide our league with only the best umpiring."

Bill currently umpires in the PAC 12, the Big West, West Coast Conference, WAC and Mountain West Conference, and has worked two NCAA College World Series in Omaha, as well as 29 NCAA Regionals and NCAA Super Regionals.

His umpiring career began in the Pioneer League in 1981.  Bill moved up to the Pacific Coast League, working seven seasons in the AAA league.

Bill is married, has a grown daughter, and operates a landscape business in his hometown of Modesto, California.
