OAKVILLE, ON - After dropping a 7-5 decision to the Peterborough Lakers, the Oakville Rock were back at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre Monday night for a meeting with the K-W Kodiaks. A pivotal game considering Brampton had upset the Lakers in a 16-15 OT shootout the night before.
It was a slow start to the game as the teams traded goals with Dan Lomas tying things up midway through the first. After the Kodiaks went up 3-2, Lomas added his second and the teams headed into the final frame with K-W up 3-2.
In the 3rd, Nick Rose stood tall and the Rock after firing 50 shots at Kodiaks goaltender David Diruscio, Jeremy Noble tied it at 7 minutes of the 3rd. Brenden Thenhaus scored the eventual winner and Dan Lomas and Geln Bryan added insurance markers as the Rock would win 6-3. The Rock will travel to peterborough on Thursday night, before a rematch with the Kodiaks in K-W on Sunday.
