PEEWEES ARE TIER 2 PROVINCIAL CHAMPS
Date: Nov 26, 2014
Atoms won 20-0. Got on the board early with a 60 yard TD run by Preston Arsenault. After that the cold, wet and wind took over as both Valley O and Fall River O struggled to get anything going. Late in the third we got rolling again and took a 12-0 lead on Emmit Mailman 5 yard plunge. The follow drive in the 4th Elias Jones took a reverse 40 yards and Emmit Mailman converted the kick for a 20-0 final.
Bulldogs D put in another strong showing by posting their 6 shut out in 10 games.
We host Timberlea at home on Saturday in Teir 1 Semi Finals.
The Bantam Bulldogs took on Fall River in the season finally. With High winds and driving rain, the primary focus was the ground game. Royce Gloumeau led the way with a very strong afternoon complimented by Noah Tait, Alex Hayes and Ethan Clahane.
Despite the very bad weather condition, QB Caleb Melanson maintained control of the ball and was able to connect for three passing TDs majors (No small task) . Two (2) to Alex Hayes and 1 to Jack Hayes. Ethan Clahane added a rushing TD. The last score came on a conceded safety.
The defense led by the defense line (Kyle Chappus, Jayden King, BenLohr, Tanner, Keegan Ward and Minkyu Woo) was strong the whole game allowing Fall River only a handful of positive yard plays.
Having won the tiebreaker, the Bantams play in the Tier 1 Semi Final next Saturday in HRM or in the Dome in Lantz. (To be determined)
