Corin's two-run home run propels the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs past the Marthas Vineyard Sharks, 5-4

The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (11-21) jumped on the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (17-16) early on their way to a 5-4 win on Friday at Doyle Field, scoring three runs in the first inning.

The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs scored in the first on a two-run home run by Mike Corin and a solo home run by Austin Botts.

Botts led the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs' offensive threat, as he got on base two times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI.

Mike Lundin struck out six hitters en route to the the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs win. Lundin allowed two earned runs on four hits and no walks over six innings.

Tim Bickford had two extra-base hits for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks. He homered in the third inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Patrick Nicholson couldn't get it done on the mound for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
