New Ownership for Texas Strikers Announced

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL — Goalkeeper and Brownsville native Juan Gamboa made 15 saves in a victorious effort for Hidalgo La Fiera as they defeated the Las Vegas Legends 5-4 at the Sears Centre Arena on Saturday evening.
In the first quarter Hidalgo (16-2) took an early lead when Robson De Souza scored just 36 seconds into the match giving them a 1-0 lead. The goal was assisted by Armando Teran.
Las Vegas (14-4) scored twice in the first quarter courtesy of Franck Tayou and Alex Caceres to give them a brief 2-1 lead after one quarter.
Hidalgo got the score even at two when an own goal was credited to Robson De Souza to send La Fiera and Legends tied at the break.
La Fiera would score a pair of goals in the third quarter from De Souza and Alejandro Morales to give them a 4-2 cushion after three quarters. The goals were assisted by Teran and De Souza respectively.
In the last quarter of play, the Legends would tie the game at four when Enrique Tovar and Ricardo Sobreira pulled the game even which would not last very long.
After the Legends tied the game at four apiece, Teran answered right back with a score that proved to be the game winner for La Fiera as the unassisted tally put Hidalgo up for good, 5-4.
The next game for La Fiera will be on Sunday, March 16 at the Sears Centre Arena in Chicago, Illinois as they await the winner of the Chicago Mustangs and the Cleveland Freeze in the Ron Newman Cup Championship game with the kickoff set for 4:30 PM.
