Smiths Falls downs Ottawa in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Victor Beaulac registered two points to lead the Smiths Falls Bears to a 5-1 victory over the Nepean Raiders.
The win gave Smiths Falls a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.
The Bears forced Nepean's netminders to work without much rest, racking up 37 shots and forcing 32 saves. Brett Magnus made 22 stops and Ryan Mulder made 10. Smiths Falls stifled the Raiders' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.
Smiths Falls additionally got points from Zachary Senyshyn, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Smiths Falls also had goals scored by Derian Plouffe, Domenic Camastra, and Stefano Momesso, who scored one goal each. In addition, Smiths Falls received assists from Brandon McMartin, Chris MacMillan, Brandon Lesway, Taylor Henry, and Karson McCartney, who each chipped in one.
Cory Simic recorded 23 saves for the Bears. Smiths Falls incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Nepean incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
