Behind a great game by Scott Pitt, who had two goals and one assist, the Orleans Blues defeated the Cornwall Colts, 5-2. Pitt found the back of the net on the power play 2:37 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Orleans and again while 5:13 into the third to make the score 4-1 Orleans.Orleans had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on nine chances. Orleans additionally got points from Chris Somerville, who also registered one goal and one assist. Chris Kushneriuk also scored for Orleans. More assists for Orleans came via Kevin Brojek, who had three and Gavin Carson, Patrick Burns, Patrick Millette, and Andrew Creppin, who contributed one a piece. Cornwall was helped by Kyle Flanagan, who grabbed one goal. Flanagan scored on the power play 9:42 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Orleans. The Colts had gained a power play chance when Carson was whistled for holding. Burke MacDonald picked up the assist. Cornwall also got a goal from Jayson Saraceno as well. In addition, Cornwall received assists from Mark Williams and Landon Lavictoire, who each chipped in one. Adam Courchaine recorded 23 saves for the Blues. Orleans ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. The Blues ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kushneriuk was ejected from the game. Cornwall's Marco Raimondo stopped 22 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Colts incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
