South boosted by Christofferson's play in net, beats Central 2-1

Cody Christofferson stood on his head and made 40 saves to lead South to a 2-1 victory over Central.

South was sparked by Michael Lamison, who registered one goal. Lamison scored 5:09 into the third period to make the score 2-1 South.

South forced Central's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, taking 35 shots and forcing 33 saves. Joseph Giacobbo made 18 stops and Hunter Smith made 15. South's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Central power plays.

Sam Cote also scored for South. Other players who recorded assists for South were Brendon Gysbers and Nicholas Ness, who each chipped in one.

Central stifled South's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Central's offense operated below its season average. Central puts an average of 4.0 pucks into the net per game. Central's offense rang up 41 shots on South's net.

Central was led by Anthony Starzi, who scored the team's only goal. Starzi scored 14:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Central. Dane Johnson picked up the assist.

South incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Central incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
