The Carleton Place Canadians pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Ottawa Senators on a clutch goal by Lucas Batt. The win gave Carleton Place a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Canadians came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Carleton Place fell behind 2-0 after a goal by Ottawa's Jim Pearson at 4:54 in the second period. The Canadians knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Jaren Burke at 1:35 in the third period. Carleton Place was led by Batt, who grabbed one goal. Batt scored 14:39 into overtime to make the score 4-3 Carleton Place. Jacob Moreau picked up the assist. Carleton Place also had goals scored by Logan Buchanan, Bryce VanHorn, and Tim Theochardis, who each put in one. More assists for Carleton Place came via Jordan Larson, who had two and Braedyn Asselstine and Brett Murray, who each chipped in one. The Senators forced the Canadians goalie Colton Point to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.
