Trenton holds on for 5-4 win against Georgetown

The Trenton Golden Hawks survived a determined comeback attempt by the Georgetown Raiders on the way to a 5-4 win.

Trenton made the score 5-3 on a goal by Liam Morgan at 12:03 in the third period, and Georgetown got as close as 5-4 when Josh Dickinson scored 17:21 into the third period.

The win gave the Golden Hawks a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Morgan and Lucas Brown provided the spark for Trenton, combining for two goals and four assists. Morgan grabbed one goal and two assists and Brown also notched one goal and two assists.

Trenton also got points from Kevin Lavoie, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Brown, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Trenton included Mitch Emerson and Curtis Harvey, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Trenton were Adam Clements, who had two and Ethan Skinner and Hunter Fargey, who each chipped in one.

The Raiders' offense rang up 35 shots on the Golden Hawks' net.

Georgetown was led by Jack Jacome, who registered two goals. Jacome scored the first of his two goals at 13:29 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Georgetown. Brendan Jacome assisted on the tally. Jacome's next tally made the score 4-3 Trenton with 12:55 left in the third period. Daniel Hardie picked up the assist. Georgetown also got a goal from Ryan Takamatsu as well. In addition, Georgetown received assists from Matthew Cairns, who had two and Zack Dybowski and Ashur Elliot, who contributed one each.

Daniel Urbani made 31 saves for Trenton on 35 shots. The Golden Hawks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Andrew Masters rejected 19 shots on goal for the Raiders. Georgetown incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
