Hardie nets hat trick, leads Georgetown to 4-1 win over Burlington

The Burlington Cougars could not stop the Georgetown Raiders' Daniel Hardie, who tallied a hat trick in a 4-1 win.

Hardie got on the scoresheet 8:07 into the second period. He then added goals at 12:20 into the second and at 17:12 into the third.

After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Burlington faces elimination next time out.

Georgetown was led by goalie Andrew Masters, who finished with 31 saves while allowing one goal. Masters managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.47 prior to the game.

The Raiders kept the Cougars' goalie busy throughout the game, and Andrew Lee made 30 saves on 34 shots.

Georgetown also got a goal from Jake Payette as well. More assists for Georgetown came via Ryan Takamatsu, who had two and Jordan Crocker, Brendan Jacome, Matthew Cairns, and Andrew Court, who each chipped in one.

Burlington's offense rang up 32 shots on Georgetown's net.

The Cougars were led by James McLaughlin, who scored the team's only goal. McLaughlin scored 16:32 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Georgetown. Chris Cobham picked up the assist.

The Raiders incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Burlington incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
