Jacome's big game bests Burlington in 4-1 Georgetown win

Appleby Arena    Sun, Apr 03, 2016

Behind a great game by Brendan Jacome, who had two goals and one assist, the Georgetown Raiders defeated the Burlington Cougars, 4-1.

Jacome found the back of the net on the power play 4:15 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Burlington and again while 13:34 into the third to make the score 4-2 Georgetown.

The win by Georgetown broke a deadlock and gave the Raiders a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series.

Georgetown was led by goalie Andrew Masters, who finished with 37 saves while allowing one goal. Masters managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.49 prior to the game.

The Raiders' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Burlington power plays. Georgetown forced Burlington goalie Andrew Lee to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Others who scored for Georgetown included Jack Jacome and Jonathan Hampton, who each put in one. More assists for Georgetown came via Arran MacDonald, Jordan Crocker, Zack Dybowski, and Austin Cho, who each chipped in one.

The Raiders were unable to stop the Cougars from sending pucks towards the net, and Burlington eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

Georgetown incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Cougars' Lee stopped 30 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Burlington ended with 29 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major. For the Cougars, Tyler Riter was ejected from the game.
