London outlasts Leamington, 4-3

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the London Nationals escaped with a 4-3 victory over the Leamington Flyers.

London gained the winning advantage on a goal by Trevor Dulong 4:15 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

With the win, the Nationals evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.

Leamington's power play was ineffective against London's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Nationals were paced by Dulong, who had one goal.

London also got points from Kyle Robinson, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Brenden Trottier, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Callum Ruddock also scored for London. In addition, London received assists from John Adams, who had two and Kevin Madden and Scott Goodman, who contributed one each.

The Flyers were led by Liam Hogan, who registered two goals. Hogan scored the first of his two goals short handed at 2:03 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Leamington. A head contact call on Mark Gangnon put Leamington on the penalty kill. Derek Elliott provided the assist. Hogan's next tally short handed made the score 3-3 with 9:19 left in the second period. The Flyers earned a power play opportunity when Max Vinogradov was put in the box for tripping. Mitchell Amante picked up the assist.

Connor Hughes recorded 25 saves for London. The Nationals incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Leamington's Tyler Wall stopped 11 shots out of the 15 that he faced. The Flyers ended with nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. Leamington ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Gangnon was ejected from the game.
