Trenton survives Kingston comeback, wins 3-2INVISTA Center Wed, Apr 06, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
The Trenton Golden Hawks survived a determined comeback attempt by the Kingston Voyageurs on the way to a 3-2 win. A goal by Adam Clements put Trenton up 3-1 in the third period, but Kingston pulled to within one on Colin Tonge's tally 8:30 into the third period. The win by the Golden Hawks clinched the best of seven series at 4-0. Trenton got the win on the strength of a great game by Clements, who had one goal and two assists. Clements scored on the power play 2:15 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Trenton. The Golden Hawks had gained a power play chance when Jakob Brahaney was whistled for high sticking. Josh Allan assisted on the tally. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Trenton also got points from Allan, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Carson Brookshaw also scored for Trenton. In addition, Trenton received assists from Mitch Emerson, who had one. The Voyageurs were helped by Jack Zielinski, who tallied one goal. Zielinski scored 6:36 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Austin Boulard picked up the assist. More assists for Kingston came via Jacob Hanlon, Ian Harris, and Connor Cobbold, who each chipped in one. Daniel Urbani recorded 25 saves for Trenton. The Golden Hawks incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Kingston's David Richer stopped 23 shots out of the 26 that he faced. The Voyageurs incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
