Trenton outlasts Kingston, 6-4Duncan Memorial Wed, Mar 30, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
The Trenton Golden Hawks gutted out a close 6-4 win against the Kingston Voyageurs. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Mitch Emerson at 5:39 of the third period. The win gave Trenton a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. Lucas Brown had one goal and two assists to lead the Golden Hawks. Brown scored 15:04 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Trenton. Liam Morgan assisted on the tally. Kingston was unable to stop Trenton from sending pucks towards the net, and the Golden Hawks eventually piled up 44 shots on goal. Trenton also got points from Morgan, who also racked up one goal and two assists and Kevin Lavoie, who also registered one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Trenton included Jordan Chard and Josh Allan, who scored one goal each. In addition, Trenton received assists from Hunter Fargey, who had two and Brandon Marinelli, Jordan DaSilva, Danny Hanlon, and Mac Lewis, who contributed one each. The Voyageurs stifled Trenton's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Kingston was helped by Brandon Nadeau, who had one goal. Nadeau scored 18:20 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Colin Tonge picked up the assist. Kingston also had goals scored by Jacob Hanlon, Cole Langfield, and Jack Zielinski, who each put in one. More assists for Kingston came via Josh Hardiman, Zachary Emelifeonwu, Connor Bebb, Austin Boulard, and Ian Harris, who each chipped in one. Daniel Urbani made 19 saves for the Golden Hawks on 23 shots. Trenton incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. David Richer recorded 38 saves for the Voyageurs. Kingston incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
