Behind a great game by Kohei Sato, who had two goals and one assist, North Iowa defeated Yellowstone, 6-2.

Sato found the back of the net 2:38 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while 9:31 into the first to make the score 2-1 North Iowa.

Yellowstone was unable to stop North Iowa from sending pucks towards the net, and North Iowa eventually piled up 48 shots on goal. The defensemen of North Iowa were also effective in Yellowstone's zone, and came away with two goals.

North Iowa also got points from Brett Gravelle, who also had one goal and one assist. Connor Bump also scored for North Iowa. In addition, North Iowa received assists from Ryan Durant, Adam Orn, Sean Mallonee, Mitch Parsons, Marshall Barnes, and David Min, who contributed one each and Quinn Fuchs and Carmen Dalesandro, who each chipped in two.

Yellowstone was helped by Reed Kelly, who racked up one goal. Kelly scored 14:29 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Tony Dahlberg provided the assist. Yellowstone also got a goal from Nicholas Elliot as well. More assists for Yellowstone came via Tristan Henrichs, Manuel Manero, and Justin Berezinski, who contributed one each.

North Iowa's Tommi Ahlgren stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. North Iowa incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Garret Matz made 42 saves for Yellowstone on 48 shots. Yellowstone incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
