Carleton Place rolls over Brockville, 5-1

The Brockville Braves had trouble finding ways to stop the Carleton Place Canadians, which beat Braves, 5-1.

After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Brockville faces elimination next time out.

Carleton Place was led by goalie Colton Point, who finished with 25 saves while allowing one goal. Despite the solid performance, Point will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 0.95 entering the contest.

The Canadians were led by Nicolas Carrier, who had one goal. Carrier scored 1:40 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Carleton Place. Braedyn Asselstine picked up the assist.

Carleton Place forced the Braves' goalies to work all game long, ripping 39 shots and forcing 34 saves. Henry Johnson made 31 stops and Michael Cerasuolo made three.

Carleton Place also got points from Owen Grant, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Geoff Kitt, who also registered two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Carleton Place also got a goal from Brett Murray as well. More assists for Carleton Place came via Maxime StPierre, who had two and Logan Buchanan, Alex Robinson, and Jordan Larson, who contributed one each.

Brockville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances.

The Braves were led by Vincenzo Renda, who scored the team's only goal. Renda scored on the power play 5:28 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Carleton Place. Brockville had gained a power play chance when Will LeNeave was whistled for head contact. Andrew Jarvis provided the assist.

The Canadians incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Braves incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
