Crivello's hat trick boosts Hawkesbury over Ottawa, 5-3

A hat trick by Vincent Crivello was the highlight in Hawks' 5-3 win against the Ottawa Senators.

Crivello notched his first tally 3:39 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:26 into the first and at 19:08 into the third.

With the win, the Hawkesbury Hawks evened the series at 2-2 in the best of seven showdown.

Hawkesbury kept Ottawa's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ian Andriano made 37 saves on 42 shots. The Hawks' penalty kill unit could not stop the Senators' power play, which converted on three of four opportunities.

Hawkesbury additionally got points from Eric Theander, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Chris Smith also scored for Hawkesbury. More assists for Hawkesbury came via Johnathan Kovacevic, who had two and Damien Charette, Brandon Barillaro, and Bruno Cheff, who contributed one each.

Ottawa excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Hawkesbury was unable to stop the Senators from sending pucks towards the net, and Ottawa eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

The Senators were helped by Elie Boulerice, who finished with one goal. Boulerice scored on the power play 19:18 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Ottawa had gained a power play chance when Theander was whistled for roughing. Jody Sullivan assisted on the tally. Ottawa also got points from Isaac Anderson, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Ottawa also got a goal from Zacharie Car as well. In addition, Ottawa received assists from Alexandre Way, Evan Lindquist, Greg Meireles, and Merrick Rippon, who each chipped in one.

Andrew Tucci recorded 28 saves for the Hawks. Hawkesbury incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Senators incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
