Justin Felker gave the St. Catharines Falcons a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Ancaster Avalanche when he scored 10:45 into the extra period. The win gave St. Catharines a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Falcons' penalty kill excelled, as St. Catharines gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays. The Falcons were sparked by Felker, who grabbed one goal. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 19:53 into the first period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. St. Catharines stifled Ancaster's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Falcons kept the Avalanche's goalie busy throughout the game, and Cole Ceci made 29 saves on 32 shots. St. Catharines also had goals scored by Tyler Jackson and Owen Green, who scored one goal each. In addition, St. Catharines received assists from Cole Langan, Tanner Allen, Aaron St. Pierre, Tyler Hildebrandt, and Anthony Postiglione, who each chipped in one. Ancaster was led by Michael Pollice, who had one goal and one assist. Pollice scored 7:47 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ancaster. Joshua Pace assisted on the tally. Ben Hughes also scored for Ancaster. Joel Horodziejczyk made 26 saves for St. Catharines on 28 shots. The Falcons totaled 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and two majors and went 0-for-2 on the power play. For St. Catharines, Broderick Kelly and Nicholas Dozzi were ejected from the contest. The Avalanche ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. For Ancaster, Cole Nagy was ejected from the game.
