Huge game by Worrad boosts Oakville over Burlington, 7-2

Drew Worrad had one goal and two assists to lead the Oakville Blades to a 7-2 victory over the Burlington Cougars.

Worrad scored 2:48 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Oakville. Tyler Rollo assisted on the tally. Worrad dished an assist on Ryan Garvey's goal that made the score 2-1 Oakville at 19 seconds into the second period. He added another helper on Garvey's goal that made the score 7-2 Oakville at 9:23 into the third period.

With the win, Oakville avoided elimination to make the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series.

Oakville additionally got points from Bryce Misley, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Peyton Reeves, who also had one goal and one assist. Oakville also had goals scored by Brandon Lukezic and Jackson Bales, who each put in one. More assists for Oakville came via Ryan Foss, Brayden Sampson, and Christian Rajic, who each chipped in one and Patrick Kudla and Daniel Jelic, who contributed two each.

Burlington's offense rang up 38 shots on the Blades' net.

The Cougars were helped by Chris Cobham, who finished with one goal. Cobham scored 1:17 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Oakville. Anthony Baxter picked up the assist. Willy Paul also scored for Burlington. In addition, Burlington received assists from James McLaughlin and Nathan Gomes, who each chipped in one.

Brendan McGlynn made 36 saves for Oakville on 38 shots. The Blades incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Andrew Lee took the loss and made 11 saves before being replaced by Austin Washkurak who made 10 saves. Burlington incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
