The North York Rangers' Nick Campoli scored 16:33 into overtime to beat the Georgetown Raiders, 4-3 (OT). The win gave North York a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Rangers got the win behind a great game by Keegan Blasby, who had two goals and two assists. Blasby scored the first of his two goals at 9:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 North York. Campoli assisted on the tally. Blasby's next tally made the score 2-2 with 10:31 left in the third period. North York's penalty kill excelled, as the Rangers gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. North York's offense rang up 46 shots on Georgetown's net. North York also got points from Campoli, who also had one goal and one assist. North York also got a goal from Chris Sekelyk as well. In addition, North York received assists from Ted Hunt and Adam Giacomin, who contributed one each. The Raiders excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Georgetown kept the Rangers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Gianluca Baggetta made 50 saves on 53 shots. The Raiders were led by Brendan Jacome, who tallied two goals and one assist. Jacome scored the first of his two goals at 4:44 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Jordan Crocker picked up the assist. Jacome's next tally made the score 2-1 Georgetown with 13:43 left in the second period. Georgetown had gained a power play chance when Giacomin was whistled for interference. Jack Jacome provided the assist. Ashur Elliot also scored for Georgetown. Other players who recorded assists for Georgetown were Josh Dickinson and Matthew Cairns, who each chipped in one. North York incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For the Rangers, Michael Morgan was ejected from the game. Andrew Masters recorded 42 saves for the Raiders. Georgetown incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
