The London Nationals gutted out a close 3-2 win against the LaSalle Vipers. Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Brenden Trottier's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, LaSalle faces elimination next time out. London was sparked by Trottier, who tallied one goal. Trottier scored on the power play 1:50 into the third period to make the score 3-2 London. A roughing penalty on Nathan Savage had put the Nationals on the power play. Austin Kemp picked up the assist. London excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Others who scored for London included Tanner Ferreira and Kyle Robinson, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for London were Kevin Madden, who had one and Tyler Sehovic and John Adams, who each chipped in two. The Vipers kept the Nationals' goalie busy throughout the game, and Connor Hughes made 29 saves on 31 shots. LaSalle was helped by Nolan Gardiner, who had one goal. Gardiner scored 7:22 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Matthew Doucette assisted on the tally. LaSalle also got points from Doucette, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, LaSalle received assists from Tyler Russell and Connor Rosaasen, who contributed one each. London incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Paolo Battisti rejected 21 shots on goal for the Vipers. LaSalle incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
