London rolls over LaSalle, 5-1

The LaSalle Vipers had trouble finding ways to stop the London Nationals, which beat Vipers, 5-1.

The win by London broke a deadlock and gave the Nationals a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series.

London was led by goalie Connor Hughes, who finished with 40 saves while allowing one goal. Hughes managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.15 prior to the game.

The Nationals were led by Austin Kemp, who finished with one goal. Kemp scored 12:41 into the first period to make the score 2-1 London. Kyle Robinson picked up the assist.

London also got points from Kevin Madden, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. London also had goals scored by Scott Dorion, Scott Goodman, and Brenden Trottier, who scored one goal each. In addition, London received assists from John Adams, who had two and Alex Cimino, Tyler Sehovic, Rai Di Loreto, Matt Doty, Jordan Di Cicco, and Max Vinogradov, who contributed one each.

LaSalle's offense rang up 41 shots on London's net.

The Vipers were led by Liam MacDougall, who scored the team's only goal. MacDougall scored on the power play 10:10 into the first period to make the score 1-1. A slashing penalty on Trevor Dulong had put LaSalle on the power play. Tyler Russell provided the assist.

The Nationals incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Vipers' Paolo Battisti stopped 20 shots out of the 25 that he faced. LaSalle incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
