The game between Texas and Atlanta was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Texas emerged with a 3-2 win. Texas gained the winning advantage on a goal by Sam Gagnon 17:45 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer. With the win, Texas avoided elimination to make the series score 1-1 in the best of three series. Texas was led by Gagnon, who grabbed one goal. Texas' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Atlanta power plays. Texas additionally got points from Bryan Whelan, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Aleksandr Zendejas rejected 18 shots on goal for Atlanta. Atlanta incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
