Austin Gaboury gave the Kitchener Dutchmen the lead in the first period, and the Waterloo Siskins was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 3-1. A goal 5:36 into the first period by Gaboury proved to be the game winner, and powered Kitchener to the victory. Connor Cole picked up the assist.With the win, the Dutchmen avoided elimination to make the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series. Cole was all over the ice for Kitchener, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Cole scored the first of his two goals at 37 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 Kitchener. JD Sterne assisted on the tally. Cole's next tally made the score 3-1 Kitchener with 7:10 left in the third period. Gaboury picked up the assist. Waterloo was stymied by the Dutchmen's netminder Cossimo Lazzarino, who stopped 31 shots during the victory. Lazzarino managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.97 prior to the game. Kitchener put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Siskins to score on any of their four power plays. Waterloo was unable to stop the Dutchmen from sending pucks towards the net, and Kitchener eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Kitchener also got points from Gaboury, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Kitchener received assists from Alex Demrovsky, Taite Wirschke, and Matt Scott, who contributed one each. The Siskins stifled the Dutchmen's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Waterloo forced Kitchener goalie Lazzarino to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. The Siskins were led by Luke Gazzola, who scored the team's only goal. Gazzola scored 6:07 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Kitchener. Conner Jean assisted on the tally. The Dutchmen incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Waterloo's Mitchell Datz stopped 32 shots out of the 35 that he faced. The Siskins incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
