Metro blows out Wooster, 12-0

Metro had a nine-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 12-0 win over Wooster.

The win by Metro clinched the best of three series at 2-0.

Graham Day was all over the ice for Metro, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Day scored the first of his two goals at 10:44 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Metro. David Chavis picked up the assist. Day's next tally made the score 5-0 Metro with 12:16 left in the second period. Chase Sereno provided the assist.

Metro excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Metro kept Wooster's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ben Luitgaarden made 34 saves on 46 shots.

Metro additionally got points from Cam Schwartz, who also registered one goal and one assist, Jacob Drinkard, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Mathias Tellstrom, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, and Kevin Shand, who also tallied two goals and two assists to lead the team in points. Metro also got a goal from Pearce Vance as well. Other players who recorded assists for Metro were Michael Tratar, who had three and Marc Schwartz, Jacob Gleason, and Chas Distelrath, who each chipped in one.

Wooster put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Metro to score on any of its seven power plays.

Kameron Limburg recorded 20 saves for Metro. Metro incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Wooster incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
