Toledo failed to take advantage of its power play opportunities and West Michigan shook off a number of penalties to win, 5-2. The win by West Michigan clinched the best of three series at 2-0. West Michigan was led by Brendon Block, who registered one goal and one assist. Block scored short handed 7:25 into the third period to make the score 3-2 West Michigan. West Michigan found itself down a man on Dakota Ulmer's tripping. Corey Siwula assisted on the tally. West Michigan forced Toledo goalie Glen Bates to work between the pipes, taking 47 shots. West Michigan additionally got points from Tyler McMahon, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. West Michigan also got a goal from Devin Farkas as well. In addition, West Michigan received assists from Justin Bloomfield, who had two and Christian Amend and TJ Krajewski, who each chipped in one. Toledo kept West Michigan's goalie busy throughout the game, and Samuel Woznicki made 42 saves on 44 shots. Toledo was helped by Ricky Kwapich, who grabbed one goal. Kwapich scored on the power play 13:43 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Toledo had gotten the advantage when West Michigan's Woznicki was sent off for roughing. Tyler Zalecki picked up the assist. David Bogart also scored for Toledo. More assists for Toledo came via Josh Somers, Tristin Snyder, and Alec Walny, who contributed one each. West Michigan incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors. Glen Bates made 42 saves for Toledo on 47 shots. Toledo incurred 36 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
