Kanata Midget AAA's Nocita deadly on offense in 6-3 win against Kemptville Midget AAA

Behind a great game by Luca Nocita, who had two goals, the Kanata Midget AAA Lasers defeated the Kemptville Midget AAA 73s, 6-3.

Nocita's tallies came at 6:18 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Kemptville Midget AAA and on the power play 6:21 into the third to make the score 5-3 Kanata Midget AAA.

The win gave Kanata Midget AAA a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

The Lasers forced Kemptville Midget AAA goalie Nick Bond to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Kanata Midget AAA also got points from Ty Gauthier, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Nathan MacKechnie also scored for Kanata Midget AAA. In addition, Kanata Midget AAA received assists from Cade Townend, who had two, David Silye, who had three, and Bennett Stockdale and Brian Bygrave, who each chipped in one.

The 73s kept Kanata Midget AAA's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jean-Philippe Tourigny made 29 saves on 32 shots.

Kemptville Midget AAA was helped by Brady Elder, who had one goal. Elder scored on the power play 8:01 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Kemptville Midget AAA. The 73s had gained a power play chance when Silye was whistled for interference. Owen Scott provided the assist. Kemptville Midget AAA additionally got points from Dean Bucciarelli, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Kemptville Midget AAA also got a goal from Zach Cohen as well. Other players who recorded assists for Kemptville Midget AAA were Patrick Yates, Mike Armstrong, Jack Walsh, and Jordan Currie, who contributed one each.

The Lasers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Bond recorded 30 saves for Kemptville Midget AAA. The 73s incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
